  • I was one of SWAN Rehab's first set of patients in Fall 2003.
  • I started SWAN Rehab walking with a cane, an AFO, and had little movement in my left arm and hand.
  • I contribute a lot of the success of my stroke recovery to Dr. Kay Wing and the therapists at SWAN Rehab.
  • Today, I walk with no assistive devices, except for the Bioness for gait improvement, and my left arm and hand is an active assistant to my right one.
  • Therapy at SWAN Rehab is based on the philosophy that function can continue to improve regardless of the age of the individual or how many years have passed since the stroke or injury. We know that recovery can be maximized when we blend the latest technologies with our highly trained staff. While you are working hard, we will work hard to achieve the best recovery.
  • SWAN Rehab was founded in 2003 by Dr. Kay Wing and became part of the Rehab Without Walls family in 2018.

  • I own 3 products from Bioness: The H200, the L300 upper cuff, and the L300 lower cuff.
  • The H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation System is programmed by your clinician to stimulate the appropriate nerves and muscles of your forearm and hand. This helps to reeducate electrical brain signals, stimulating weak or paralyzed muscles.
  • The L300 products assist with foot drop and knee instability. The L300 Go is the first functional electrical stimulation (FES) system to offer comprehensive 3D motion detection of gait events, containing a learning algorithm which analyzes patient movement and offers electrical stimulation precisely when needed during the gait cycle.

  • I own 2 products from Sabeo: the SaeboFlex and the SaeboStretch.
  • The SaeboFlex allows individuals suffering from neurological impairments, such as stroke, the ability to incorporate their hand functionally in therapy and at home. These unique orthoses position the wrist and fingers into extension in preparation for object manipulation. The user is able to grasp objects by voluntarily flexing his or her fingers. Once the fingers relax (stop gripping), the extension spring system assists in re-opening the hand to release the object.
  • For the revolutionary SaeboStretch, the dynamic resting hand splint helps neurologically-impaired clients maintain or improve motion while minimizing joint damage and pain.

  • I used the LiteGait at SWAN Rehab and it greatly impacted my gait.
  •  LiteGait provides postural control and weight-bearing assistance for fall-free therapeutic activities.  It permits the clinician to be hands-free when working with clients of all functional levels and diagnoses, to focus on better quality and increased quantity of practice.

  • I used the Hand Mentor at SWAN Rehab and at home for my home exercise program.
  • This is the next generation from the one I own but same concept. It reduces spasticity and helps to increase your range of motion.
  •  Motus technology uses high-dose repetitive task practice to induce neuroplasticity to help stroke survivors improve hand and foot function.
